The rights to the Homeworld series were long held by publisher THQ, but were sold to Gearbox Software in 2013 due to its bankruptcy. The series was developed by Relic Entertainment, known for the Dawn of War games, among others. In both games you control a fleet of spaceships that you can move over a three-dimensional plane. The game was continued in 2003, entitled Homeworld 2. The first Homeworld game dates from 1999. The game will be released exclusively for PC.
